Witcher's Medallion

I finally tried my hand at sculpting again for a costume. This is supposed to be Geralt, the Witcher's wolfhead medallion. Obviously not perfect, but I believe it will do the job. At it's widest point it mesures approx. 10cm and is about 6cm deep. I used beige/tan super sculpey, black and silver acrylic paints and black India Ink.

Cinema 4D

I have complete my Cinema4D101 course, and here is the result of the final lessons. The logo is from the company who makes the tutorials but it has given me a good base for simple geometry, materials and somewhat procedural animation, though the time line interface is nearly identical to the graph editor in Maya, so figuring things out hasn't been to difficult.

It's been a while since my last update, not because I haven't done anything, but rather because I can't openly show it at the moment because I'm working on a few shots for a renovation show on a trial basis. However I have also been working on completing the Cinema4D tutorial, so as soon as the last lesson is done, I will post that. As a side note I am looking into purchasing the Adobe CS5 Production suite, so that will open up options for production from home, especially considering I already have a Blu-Ray burner.

Today I completed the tutorial on texturing in Cinema4D. It essentially covers the basics without going into much detail on essential things like UV maps. Te UV editing portion of the pipeline appears to be much less intuitive then in Maya, until another lesson [hopefully] covers this subject matter, it appears I'm stuck with basic materials for the moment.

New Training

It's been 6 days since I've finished school and I am about to embark on the road that is real life. I decided to take this week "off" to relax a little bit after the big finals ad was lucky enough to have a chance to visit a local company. Here, I've been offered a chance to observe the work environment while working on my own projects and/or following professional grade tutorials. In exchange I may be asked to perform small work related tasks for them, which might lead to contract work in the best of cases. This is a great opportunity because there is no official schedule meaning I can continue my regular job search, as well as work a "normal" job for money, and come here on days off. Today I started learning the basics of Cinema4D using tutorials. It's still really basic compared to my work in Maya, but it's still fun, and a lot less confusing then the XSI workshop we did in class. I also started a Roto tutorial in After Effects the first step of which is getting rid of a guy in a staircase, it is still a work in progress but I'll post that anyway with the C4D shot.

Steampunk Sidearm

Sometime midsummer I got myself possibly the best product ever created by Nerf; the Maverick. Since then I've modded it all the way to the land of Steampunk. Most pieces either come from an old casette player, radioshack, old shoes and other random stuff found in my toolbox full of random interesting bits of stuff. Unless I find something better before engraving, her name is Eudora.

This is probably my 2nd last post for the Kotpa, since all that's left is the arms and gluing. Maybe another later post when i get around to mass basing everything. I especially had fun discovering how to give it the faded/worn paint effect. Each set is from a different day. Enjoy.

I was never happy with this drawing since I ended up doing most of it on the day of the hand-in but I liked the idea of it so I started messing with it in Photoshop. I'll see how far I feel like going with it overtime.

This guy was originally created to go into a layout for a 1 room 2 views layout project I had but I never got around to sticking him in there, but still liked the character. A few People tell me he makes them think of a bunch of different characters, I suppose they might have inspired him at a subconscious level, but nothing intentional.
